Located in historic Kingston, Ontario, David J. Cupido Construction Ltd. is a family owned and operated business founded in 1979. With a staff of over 30 employees, Cupido provides services primarily in Eastern Ontario but has completed projects throughout Canada.

Cupido Construction provides a full range of construction services to our clients in the Industrial, Commercial, Institutional and Public Sectors including fixed fee, design/build, stipulated sum, project management and construction management. Our area of expertise also includes historical renovations, for which our company has received recognition for our skill in matching new construction to existing historical sections.

Our in-house millwork shop provides a wide range of architectural millwork and custom cabinetry. All of our millwork is completed by a team of highly skilled and experienced cabinetmakers.

Safety is a number one priority for Cupido Construction, and we strive to maintain a safe working environment at all times. Experienced supervisors, on-site safety lectures for all workers, and regular safety inspections and training sessions by the Health & Safety officer ensure that issues are identified and addressed quickly.

David Cupido


David Cupido founded Cupido Construction in 1979 in partnership with his father, Ernie Cupido. Today he provides leadership, direction and the overall management of David J. Cupido Construction Ltd. He currently holds a position on the Board of Directors for the Ontario General Contractors Association, as well as the Chair for Kingston Contractors Labour Relations.

Michael Lott

Director of Operations

Michael Lott has been employed with Cupido Construction for 30 years. He is a licensed carpenter, practicing since 1990. As Director of Operations, he manages a team of experienced project managers, site supervisors and mill shop workers while planning, directing and coordinating all aspects of the business to ensure timely completion of projects in accordance with company protocols.

Debbi Knights


Debbi Knights has been with Cupido Construction for the past 10 years. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA). She has a B.Com. with Honours from Laurentian University and contributes 25 years of experience in accounting and financial management. Debbi provides financial management for the company including financial reporting, project forecasting, cash flow analysis and maintenance, working capital management and maintenance of financial systems.

Luis Bulhoes

Project Manager

Luis Bulhoes has been with Cupido Construction for over 30 years, and a licensed carpenter since 1991. As PM, Luis manages multiple projects at one time and provides overall construction management from pre-construction to completion, including design, coordination and scheduling in conjunction with the Site Supervisor. Luis is responsible for overseeing the performance of the Site Supervisor and sub-trades and ensuring at all times that there is a clear understanding of the clients’ objectives.

John Cordeiro


John Cordeiro has been employed by Cupido Construction since nearly its founding. He brings to us over 20 years of experience as a construction estimator, and over 40 years’ experience in construction. For each bidding project, John attends each site and evaluates its conditions, creates tenders and develops the project schedule. He examines drawings, specifications, reports, and addenda for preparation of proposals. It’s his responsibility to prepare and maintain budgets and cost controls, as well as calculate and finalize the costs of labour, materials, and equipment for bids.

Corinna Geenevasen

Project Coordinator

Corinna has been a member of Cupido Construction since 2009, bringing with her 15 years of experience in Accounting and Office Administration. Corinna provides administrative support to the Project Managers and Site Supervisors to ensure smooth running of all projects. Her responsibilities include shop drawings, change orders, billing, closeouts and anything else required to bring about a successful project.

Ben Shaw

Millshop Manager

Ben Shaw has been a valued member of Cupido Construction since 1995. He attended Algonquin College for Heritage Carpentry and Millwork, and has been with Cupido ever since. Ben manages a skilled team of millworkers in order to provide the highest quality of millwork for both commercial and residential projects.
